Well, I decided that since it’s been almost two months now since my last post, I should probably let you know that I’m still alive and composing. So here’s an update on what I’ve been doing these past months, and what I’m currently working on.
So, if you’ve read my ‘about’ page, you should know that I enjoy writing. Well, for the month of July, I signed up for campnanowrimo (camp national novel writing month) and spent most of my spare time working on an outline for a novel I’m writing (I have another website dedicated to writing here). I wasn’t able to do much with music, and even had to keep myself from composing when I wanted to really bad!
But anyway, those times passed by, and now I’m back to working on a few things with music, and I really want to write my novel. I guess that’s just the way it goes sometimes.
Currently, I’m working on arranging my second piano duet, ‘Mary Did You Know?’ I’m trying to finish it soon so my sister will have enough time to work on the other pieces she’s learning, and this arrangement before December. I’m also working on composing a hymn for the 500th anniversary of the reformation. After that, I need to compose a trombone solo for my dad (who got his Bachelor’s degree in Trombone, and was going for his master’s. He’s really good!), since I told him I would for his birthday which was several months ago.
After those pieces, I’ll probably work much harder on writing my novel. I also want to get a Christmas album out soon, but we’ll see how that goes…
Anyway, there’s a quick update on what I’ve been doing lately. I would give a sample of my arrangement, ‘Mary Did You Know?’ but I’m saving that for when we play it the night of the recital. The hymn should be released within a month or so.
